I wasn't kidding.

The other day on FB I wrote "I think I'm having a 1/3 life crisis. 2 weeks til 30 ." I know people thought I was being funny and I sort of was but really, I wasn't kidding. The other day I'm cutting the crusts off my kid's sandwich (I don't like the crust either) and I literally thought to myself "What am I doing with my life?" I'm going to be 30 soon and I have no college degree, a measly dental assistant certificate that I can't even use and I'm a terrible housewife. I can't even do this job well. I know, I know. I sound dramatic and was throwing myself a little pity party. With Middle being in school 3 days a week, I just felt like there's something more I could be doing. Something that maybe would contribute more to the household. I do realize that being a SAHM is important work. I do. But some days, it's hard to see that.

Well, I decided to do something completely out of my comfort zone. I decided to join Younique. I know what you're thinking "Great. Someone else who does annoying live videos & adds me to a group I don't want to be in" but hear me out. I decided to do it because I really, really like the products. If you're reading this, you likely know me and know I don't pull any punches. I'm real, I'm honest & that's not going to change any time soon! Now if you're not interested in makeup, I get it. I just hope that you'll at least give me a chance. I'm going to be learning and experimenting and hopefully people will be along for the ride. I want to have fun with this.

I don't wear makeup every day. I always say "Ain't nobody got time fa dat every day". I do it for special occasions, usually. Well, Friday, I wanted to do it for me. Whoa. When you're a mom there's not much you really do for yourself anymore. After I put these products on, I felt more confident and sure of myself. Not the you NEED makeup for that but it sure doesn't hurt!! Now, I don't really know anything about contouring, blush or any of that jazz. I do want to learn about it though! I just never wanted to spend the money on it. Well, the great thing is if you buy something you don't like, they have a love it guarantee that makes it easy to exchange or return your product. I actually got something I wasn't a fan of and bought 2 more of something I really liked!

Basically: foundation, eyeshadow, mascara & lipstick
I seriously never would have picked that lipstick for myself but decided to give it a try anyway. Loved it and I think it looks awesome!



So, I'm going to give this thing a shot. I might fail but I will never know unless I try. Plus, I got 3 girls looking up to me to practice what I preach. Be confident, don't give up, keep trying, step outside your comfort zone, etc. etc. so that's just what I'm gonna do. I hope you'll be cheering me on (and maybe trying a product or 2 😋)

I debated many-a-times writing this blog post but I was afraid people would think I was looking for attention. That's not what this is about. I'm writing for awareness. To take away some of the STIGMA that comes with having a developmentally delayed child. So I'll start from the beginning... Averiana Eden was born last April. She is different than her sister, although they have a lot of facial similarities. Pretty much, from the start, she's been the polar opposite of Bri. Bri is independent, friendly, outgoing, and a big ball of energy. Avi is much more relaxed, not as warming to strangers, very hesitant and is content if you're just snuggling with her. Ari's Birth Story

I wasn’t quite sure where to begin my birth story so I’ll start with my 38 week checkup. I was 3-4 cm and 75-80% effaced so I had my membranes swept. It seemed like if anything was going to happen it would in 48 hours or so. The next day I was having contractions and they were bearable but I decided to go in and see if there was any progress. There was a bit but no consistent labor. It was an emotional couple of days thinking she was going to come, arranging for our other 2 girls to go somewhere and then to have it stop altogether. So at my 39 week checkup, I had another sweep where I was 4-5 cm and 80-85% effaced. Still nothing!! 3 days later I’m pretty much a wreck and call the office to see when I can get another sweep because I could not go past 40 weeks (I know, I know, it’s safe until 42 but emotionally and physically, I was just done!). Cold September Day

So, uh...Fall has officially arrived in Michigan. Although, I'm told, this is pretty unusual for this time of year, I'm not buying it lol. Avi says "'Un-seasonably cold' my booty! " This morning we were just bums and lounged around the house. We worked with Avi's walking between me and Adam. She did fine. She can pick up her left leg pretty good but not the right so that's something I'm going to bring up in physical therapy. We planned on going to a family event here in Bay City called Kid's Block Party. It was hosted by Great Lakes Bay Moms . They are a great resource for things to do in the tri-city area. I actually found Bri's swim classes on there. Their Facebook  is great too. They post "Daily Picks" of events going on around town. Sure glad I found them. Thanks, Amy S. for the recommendation!
