Jack of all trades, master of none.

Hey guys!
It's been a minute since I last blogged! How are ya? Me, same ol' crazy! If you follow me on Facebook, you probably know by now that I've picked up sewing. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time and just never took the time to do it. If you've known me for a while, you also know that I am an ADD hobbyist. I get into something SO.HARD. and then I move on to the next thing. Adam teases me about it and I honestly can't blame the guy. He's been supporting my hobbies for the past 11-1/2 years now so I'm sure he's pretty over it.

In case you don't know me so well, I have gotten into:
Blogging-I had an older blog that I wrote in 4 times and if you look at my history with this one, you'll see it's not very regular. I do love to write though.
Painting-Tracing paper onto canvas and basically coloring it. Not good at that.
Clay creations/earrings- liked it but time consuming and expensive. Hard to do with small children.
Nail art-I was into that so hard!! I had so.much.nail polish when we moved here 4 years ago. I gave a lot of it away to a nice teenager last year.
Crocheting-my MIL retaught me how when I was pregnant with Bri & I've done it off and on since then. I took last year off because I was too busy with Younique.
Cricut stuff (shirts, cards, vinyl)- Started last year and love it! It's so useful.
and now sewing.

I was really into:
Lularoe-bought way too many clothes. Wear ZERO of them now.
Younique-still love it but I suck at selling.
Pampered Chef- see above. I'll still buy at a party though.

So I think Adam is surprised I've stuck with working out for 2 years and running for over 1 year. I'm not as into working out as much because I'm training for a marathon in October but I'm still doing it because cross training is important. I don't know why I'm like this. I guess I never really felt like I was good at anything growing up. I didn't have a "thing". I wasn't athletic, I wasn't in band, I didn't have any extracurriculars to keep me busy or entertained. I started working when I was 15 so I didn't really worry about that stuff. My mom is the same way as me. I remember her having a sewing machine, an embroidery machine, she's done crocheting, painting figurines, now she's doing wine bottle decorating, ceramic paintings, etc.

I told my friend and SIL the other day, even with all of the things I'm into, I don't consider myself crafty. I just follow directions and it happens to work. My skills have definitely grown the most in crochet. I love to keep my hands busy and it's something I could do when I had kids in the room unlike some other things I have to do in my room. Can't leave the 2 yr old unsupervised for too long or who knows what she'll destroy. For Cricut, I just download things and play around with fonts; it does the work of cutting and I stick/iron on whatever surface I'm working with. It's not too complicated. Now reading a sewing pattern, it's like French to me. It's frustrating and hard and makes me feel dumb. Maybe that's why I don't stick with things? I don't feel like I'm good enough so I move on. Anywho, sewing opens up a whole new world for me to take my passions of crochet and cricut to the next level.

I would love to earn some extra money just crafting. It scares me though. When you get paid for things, it becomes a job and takes away the passion for me. For now, I'll do little side jobs here and there. I just hate talking money. "How much?" and when you say, they change their mind. I try to be fair but I'm just trying to cover the costs of my addictions...er...crafts, I don't even make anything for my time! Time is money and we don't make anything off our time 😝 Please remember that when you order from a crafter. I know you can buy it on Amazon for cheaper so if you don't want to pay for homemade things and help a sister out, then buy it on Amazon! LOL.

I'm excited for my little work space in my bedroom. We don't have much room so we have to go up on the walls. With my in-laws and Adam's help, I've got a great corner going on in my room. I'm excited to grow my skills. Even if I don't get super hard into sewing (I'm trying to make a maxi skirt next), I know that having the basics will help so I'm ok with not being super great at it. I'm just happy I can pull up the bobbin thread!!

You can usually catch me with an iced coffee on my desk because it's during nap time and I'd like to nap but can't nap and craft at the same time soooo coffee it is! LOL

My Happy Place
You can't have enough storage

Material for the maxi skirt I'm making. I already cut it out wrong but am going to see it through to the end.

Thanks so much for reading! If you've ever bought anything from me from any of my ADD hobbies, thank you. You're the best!!
