Some traditions do stick...

Hey all!

I always say I want to blog more and it hasn't happened. I wanted to tell a story that was a little too long for a status update so I decided what better place to tell it than my blog!

I think 2 or 3 years ago when we started doing egg hunts at home (um, hello, have you seen the crowds at some egg hunts, no thanks.), I would take change from Bri's piggy bank and fill some eggs up with that and some with some form of candy. I don't like to have too much candy around because we inevitably eat most of it so that's why we've always done half and half. She's loved it. I think last year I went to the bank and got more change instead of just using hers lol. Well, she told me this year she didn't want coin eggs so we got M&Ms and jelly beans.

So this year for egg decorating I bought fake eggs because it seems like a real dozen eggs go to waste and even though they're less than $2, I still feel bad about it. I do not recommend the fake eggs because they float (who saw that coming? Not me.) Luckily, we had about 5 hard boiled eggs that we ended up decorating.

The fake eggs just became toys. Bri had been wanting to do an egg hunt with them but I've been busy doing stuff around the house. So I finally took a break, Avi had her pumpkin basket from Halloween and we started on the hunt. Hint: they were all in their room lol. Well, we got to the first egg and it had change next to it. Haha! I told her we probably should put the change back because we didn't want Avi to put any in her mouth. We continue on the hunt and sure enough, next to each egg, more change!

I think even though she said she didn't want any coin eggs this year, I'm going to label some and tell her they're specifically for her and put some quarters in them. Mom's graduated from chump change! Lol.

I love my big hearted girl <3.

Until next time.
