Hey guys!
I have a lot to catch up on so bear with me here!
You know you've lived in Michigan for a while when it's 50 degrees and sunny out and your windows are rolled down. You know you've lived through a Michigan winter when 70 degrees in the car feels hot! Today it was a gorgeous day outside. If you have MI friends on your friends list, you probably heard all about it. I have to sort of laugh at everyone getting excited about 60 degree weather when back in AZ that's cause for some layers!

Emily and Tiffany-my best good friends here! |
So overall, I love living in Michigan. I've made some good friends (I miss my old ones dearly too!). With my in-laws help, I can be a stay at home mom and there's lots of things to do here. Now, winter sucked don't get me wrong but it was survivable (is that a word?) I mean you expect the cold days and the snow. With that said, I did have 2 "I HATE MICHIGAN" days. The first was February 14. We were supposed to go visit Adam's grandpa in the Grand Rapids area, we were about 10 minutes on the road when Gpa called, said it was a white out there and to turn around. What. a. bummer. Packing up all the stuff the kids require, layers and all, plus trying to get out the door, only to have to turn around was soul crushing! It was something to look forward to in the midst of the bitter cold. I was also bitter because it was even too cold to play outside!! The 2nd one was the day before Easter. Don't get me wrong, I loved Easter for its meaning and we ended up spending the day with Bri's friend Sophia's family, which was nice. No, I was so down that it was going to snow on Easter. It didn't end up being too bad but it was still cold and yucky and you sort of expect in April it starts to warm up SOMEWHAT. So, I say 2 days out of 9 months ain't bad.

They have a great Children's museum less than 30 min away |
We played outside a lot today, went to the Chippewa Nature Center and walked a bit there. Plus went on a couple errands for the awesome bench Adam had to build. It was great weather for him too. I was gone from 8:30a-6:30p with the exception of coming home for lunch and nap time. Whew I'm tired but so is daddy!

Nice trail at the Chippewa Nature Center |

Future tree hugger? lol |
Ok now onto the bench! We are living house that's smaller than what we are used to but we are blessed to be here and I finally decided it was time to make it a home instead of just my in-laws house. I get pretty overwhelmed by the amount of toys these kids have. It looks like a bomb went off everyday so I was looking on Pinterest and decided on a toy storage bench. The living room is long but we closed it off with the bigger couch to have the play area BEHIND there so we wouldn't have to stare at the kids toys all day, even when they're picked up. SO, I thought if we could move the bigger couch back to the wall (where it was when we moved here) and still put a bench where the couch was, it would still look like a play area back there but have the room be wider and more welcoming. Here are some pictures. We aren't done yet (we still have winter decorations up! Bad omen?).

Layout, mess and all! The bench was in the living room before I could take a real "before" pic. |

Disaster! But it's behind the couch. Out of sight, out of mind. |

Now it's an open space but they still have an area for them back there. |
Adam did an AMAZING job bringing my want to life. I'm gonna be honest though, I'd much rather be spending time together. He was working on this since we left this morning and up until we got home. We are both soooo pooped. While, he and I are honored you want one too, unless you're going to watch my kids for 10 hours (with breaks in there too) and have the supplies in your basement, it's not gonna happen! Haha. It's hard because I want to spend time with him and I want him to spend time with the girls but I also wanted a bench too. So, we will keep working to make this our home but for now, I gotta figure out how to organize in my sweet new bench.
Thanks for reading!!
